Programme
Most of the details regarding the technical programme of the Breakout Sessions is available and here's a summary of the most important companies and speakers.
Progress Software
The Event Sponsor Progress Software will be represented by a team of speakers to share the latest additions in the ABL and the roadmap for the future versions. We can find out what to expect from the next OpenEdge LTS version 12.8 and how to make sure your application is secure and ready for the real word. Progress Software will also host a workshop on how to support your Progress Application Server for OpenEdge (PASOE).
White Star Software
The team of our partner and Gold Sponsor White Star Software will bring four of their top experts on stage: Adam Backman, Paul Koufalis, Rob Fitzpatrick and Tom Bascom. As the creators of the most valueable monitoring tool ProTop, their focus will be on the database, how to configure it for top performance, how to protect the data inside it, how to migrate it to another platform sucessfully and how to master query performance. There's also a Birds of a Feather session with the whole team discussing Best and Obsolete practices and give a lot of Tips and Lessons learned for you to bring home.
Consultingwerk
Another Gold Sponsor is Consultingwerk who will bring director Mike Fechner and his colleagues Martyn Kemp and Daniel van Doorn that will present some very pratical breakout sessions regarding PASOE and Web Handlers, useful logging procedures, standards in OOABL like the Factory pattern and Decorator design pattern as well as ABL legacy code refactoring tools and ProDataset and Temp-Table parameter mysteries.
Baltic Amadeus
We're also very pleased to have our favourite company from the very north of Europe: Baltic Amadeus as a Silver Sponsor who will bring three speakers: Andrius Marcišauskas, Jūratė Balčiūnė and Paulius Kuprevičius. They will treat various subjects like Apache Kafka integration, Project efficiency and yet another addition to VSCode after last year's ProBro for database queries on the schema and data, this time they will present a plugin to show Application Profiling data.
Riverside Software
Another well known speaker is Gilles Querret from Riverside Software who will talk about the integration of Progress OpenEdge in VSCode. He will also present a 3 hours workshop on this very subject.
Familiar faces
Although retired after a brilliant over 27 years career at Progress Software, Gus Bjorklund still has affinity with the OpenEdge community and some nice stories to tell about the history of Progress as well as some updated performance tests from the Secret Bunker. This last session together with his (ex-) collegue Mike Furgal who will also co-present a session from Nectarious Daloglou about ZERO downtime production dump and load.
Local speakers
There will be two "local" Dutch speakers on the conference. Bronco Oostermeyer from Flusso will talk about Identity Access Managers for PASOE while Onno de Haan from VanMeijel will reveal how to "Open" OpenEdge with different third party plugins.
